On May 17th-19th, “The 8th China System Science Conference” was held in Wuhu. Lai Yuanming, President of Chongqing Jiaotong University and Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led a team to participate in the conference. More than 40 faculty members and students of the School of Mathematical Statistics, including Song Qiankun, the leader of the system sciences discipline, Wang Qilin, dean of the School, Ma Zailiang, deputy secretary of the Party committee, Tan Yuanshun, vice dean of the school and backbone teachers like Zhang Jianjun, Peng Zaiyun, Li Bing, Chen Xiaofeng, accompanied the team.
The conference lasted for 3 days, including the conference report, conference seminar, pre-conference lectures, group reports, posting reports, etc., discussed the key theories, cutting-edge technologies, application cases and development trends of system science from the perspectives of system science, and sought the development of system science in China. The participants of our university listened to the conference report, participated in the exchange activities in the form of thematic seminars, group reports and posting reports, and had in-depth discussions and exchanges with the participating experts on the construction of first-class disciplines of system science, talent cultivation, and the construction of the curriculum system, etc. 80 participants of our university gave lectures. Eighty people from our university made posting reports, group reports and acted as moderators of the reports.
The conference was hosted by the Shanghai Institute of System Science and the Steering Committee of China System Science Conference, organized by Anhui University of Engineering and co-organized by the School of Management of Shanghai University of Technology. The conference attracted more than 1,200 experts and scholars from more than 200 universities, research institutes and enterprises across the country to discuss system methodology, system evolution, system cognition, system regulation, system practice, system engineering and other related disciplines. The 9th China Conference on System Science will be hosted by Kunming University of Science and Technology.
